We are an independent family business based in Skipton but serving a far wider area. The company was founded by Brook Smith in 1955 as a joiners and funeral directors. Today the company is run by Howard and Susan, his son and daughter-in-law, and has evolved into a funeral directors and memorial business. Susan, originally trained and worked as a nurse and after qualifying in 1992, is now the leading funeral director whilst Howard looks after the monumental side of the business. We have also, recently been joined by our daughter Rebecca, who herself was a registered nurse, and is now working in the family business as a funeral director.

From it’s humble beginnings on Bunkers Hill it is has grown over the years and is one of the most modern and well equipped funeral services in Skipton. The present suite of buildings including mortuary and chapel of rest was added by Howard in 2001.
