About Brook Smith & Son

Brook Smith & Son is an independent, family run funeral directors, based in Skipton North Yorkshire. We provide a personal 24 hour funeral services and support to people in Skipton and the surrounding areas. Susan is the lead funeral director and Howard runs the in-house monumental side of the business and they recently welcomed their daughter Rebecca into the company.

Susan and Rebecca have both worked as qualified nurses for the NHS, Susan having worked in the hospital setting and Rebecca both hospital and community.

Planning a funeral service is a very personal thing and at Brook Smith’s we know that it is important to get all the details right and so we will take time and care to guide, advise and oversee all the planning on your behalf. We will meet with you in your home or we are perfectly happy for you to come to us.

We take great care to ensure that every funeral is carried out to the wishes of the family of the deceased. The type of funeral varies from traditional burials and cremation to woodland burials and even burials on private ground such as farm land and large gardens. We are are happy to arrange whatever you wish, provided it is dignified and of course legal. No detail is too small or large for consideration. Our sole aim is for everyone to feel that they have been able to adequately celebrate the life of their loved ones in a manner that honours them.
